Hello,

We have a shared file in SharePoint that is having a lot of weird popup messages like the below images. It is a collaborative file that around 5 people are in at a time max. We have optimized the file to be useful for collaborating and it is still having these issues. I have written a few other Microsoft support questions, but none seem to solve the problem. I there a way for me to contact a Microsoft support one on one call as an employee without admin rights as this is a huge problem for our team. Thank you

    Dear Serena PEDRAZZINI,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. I am happy to help you.

According to my research, the error message may be caused by that some users opened the file on their devices, or the co-authoring feature doesn't work fine in your environment.

So, we want to confirm with you if you opened this file on multiple devices, if so, you could close the file on the other devices.

If the scenario above is not consistent with yours, I’d suggest you check if all files from Online have the same problem, and we will give you some suggestions below and hope that will help you:

    1. If only one file has this problem, you can create a new file, then copy the content from problematic workbook to new workbook to check if the same problem will occur. And someone encountered the similar issue solved the issue via this way, for your reference: REFRESH RECOMMENDED A newer version of this file is available on the - Microsoft Community
    2. If all files have the same problem, you can also go to Excel > go to File>Options>Save>Cache Settings>click "Delete cached files". As shown below: Image

At the same time, if all suggestions above don’t work, to better understand your situation, could you provide the information below?

    1. May I know if all files have the same problem?
    2. May I know if the other Office applications have the same problem?

For now, if you want to contact Microsoft support, you still need to do so in the administrator through the administrator user. How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support

I look forward to your reply. Thanks for your cooperation.

Thank you for your feedback I tired that and will test as its others that see the issue.

As a follow up question related to this. I have a script that runs, and it copies a formula form the first row and pastes it in all the rows. this formula is a VLOOKUP and once that's done turns the formulas into just value. people are experiencing the same issue when it says there is a new version available. does running a script usually cause this?

    Dear Serena PEDRAZZINI,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. I am happy to help you

I think your conjecture is reasonable. It is possible that design permissions cause this to occur when scripts are used collaboratively. I'm sorry about that, too. Due to this phenomenon not Excel Settings can be changed. You can only contact Microsoft staff to report this phenomenon to them and ask them to fix the problem from the application development level.

Since you are using a business subscription, only admin users have direct access to Microsoft support. So, I request you to connect with your IT admin of your organization (How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support) and ask them to raise a new service request from the Microsoft 365 admin center so that the related development team will connect with you and investigate the issue further.

Note: I apologize for redirecting you to related development support team because the moderators in this community are limited with the resource for further investigation and to get a quick resolution to your problem, I requested it.

    Sincerely,
