How to turn off individual channel notifications in the "New" Teams once you have been mentioned in the channel?

As a manager, I'm often mentioned in Teams channels and threads within the channels when I need to become involved in something within that channel. When I no longer need to be involved, I normally turn off the notifications for that channel until I am needed again, so I am not inundated with unnecessary notifications.

In the "New" Teams, there does not appear to be a way to mute channel notifications once you have been mentioned in that channel/thread. I was able to adjust those individual channel settings in the "Old" Teams version.

Are there any updates coming to adjust this? Or is there a setting somewhere I am missing?

I have checked on each individual thread within the channel as well as the channel as a whole. I've also tried opening up the channel directly to adjust the notification settings, and there is not an option there.

Please bring this functionality back in the New Teams! I don't need to see everyone's reply to a work anniversary announcement as it's distracting from important work.

Yes, agreed. A number of useful features have been turned off. "New" Teams is less user-friendly and very disappointing.

Agreed! 100 percent. The initial announcement is important, but the follow up repeated "Congratulations!" and "Way to Go!", not so much and super distracting from actual work. Please allow us to mute conversations again!

...we understand that you can't to turn off individual channel notifications in the "New" Teams once you have been mentioned in the channel?...

Hello, I am experiencing a similar frustration, however I would like to keep the "Channel mentions" setting as "Banner and feed". I am wondering if there is a way to mute a specific thread inside a channel?

I will get notified each time the channel is mentioned, I would like to keep this turned on, however I also get notified every time another user sends a message in a thread that I have sent a message in or am mentioned in. I would love a way to mute this if there is one.

I remember in the old version of teams you could select the three dots on the first message in the thread and in that menu there was a "mute thread" option, so that I would only be notified again if someone mentioned me or the channel again. Please let me know if this is possible, that would be awesome - thank you!

Please escalate this. Teams is borderline unusable without this feature.
