Teams not loading older messages

Hi,

I am having a problem where a teams on mobile phone is not loading older chat messages, sometimes not loading messages as recent as a few hours ago. The messages are still available when looking at the desktop version or on a different mobile device.

When scrolling to the top of the existing messages it states that "We've deleted older messages due to your org's retention policy" which is a week.

I understand that you are having an issue with your teams not loading older messages. May I please know whether you are running teams on android or iOS?

Have you already tried try to clear the cache and data of the Teams app and check whether there's a difference. To do this, for Android, go to Settings > Apps > Teams > Storage > Clear cache and Clear data. Then restart the device and Teams.

->For iOS, go to settings >Teams >Enable clear app data >Quit and restart teams

In the meantime, please confirm with your teams admin whether they have set up a retention policy to delete teams messages after a certain period for your account. Example in this document. Manage retention policies for Microsoft Teams - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn
