How to switch to default browser in MS Teams?

Question

I am using Teams for organization/work, and in teams settings, under Files and links -> Links open preference -> Always open links in: I have a combo box with 2 options (Microsoft Edge & Default browser).

The problem is that i can't select the 'Default browser' option. Works just 'Microsoft Edge' and all link are opened using Edge (the behavior that I try to avoid).

Is this a bug in the last app version? Or i need to change anything else to get the desired behavior?

OS: Win 11
Microsoft Teams version 24137.2216.2931.2440.
The client version is 49/24050307617.

Here's a response by Jeff Kurpaska on this thread (https://answers.microsoft.com/thread/b7e85924-0376-429c-a549-9950a75cebf9) that solved the issue for me. If that doesn't work, you can check the other suggestions on the thread for one that works for you.

"If you want to turn off the open links in Edge feature, you can do so from Teams settings: Open Settings > Files and links > Link open preferences, and then select the desired browser from the dropdown menu.

Hi Stephen,

thanks for reply. Unfortunately I can't access the thread. I get 'Thread Not Found'.
Actually I have the options 'Default browser' & 'Microsoft Edge' but I can't select the 'Default browser' options (seems more like a bug in the app).
So, I opened this thread, maybe someone else encountered the same problem, and there are other options to fix this.
