Can I remove loop component after I establish it?

On my Loop workspace, I know how to create a loop component, where I can then copy and paste it in an email or in a Teams chat. See image I included

However, is there a way to remove the component after it is created. I ran into a problem when I created a new workspace and copied/pasted a previously used Kanban board onto the new workspace. when I then deleted all the tsks on the new one, they were deleted off the original one and I lost all my tasks :(

I hope this makes sense.

I hope you found the answer, but for anyone that didn't. I open the loop component and copy/paste the data into a new blank page just to store it there. Ctrl + Shift + down arrow should do the trick. Then, I go back to the loop component, delete it, and then grab the copy/pasted data and paste it in it's place.

    Hi, Larry Croucher

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

I understand that you want to delete the loop component in the Loop workspace, but I have tested that it can be deleted. Mouse over the top left of the component and the logo will appear  ,click on it and the option “Delete” will appear, check “Delete” and you will be able to delete the created component. You can delete the created component.

If there is no option to delete or remove the component in the workspace, you can try Ctrl+A to select all components and then press Delete to delete them.

Regarding your second question, are you sure you are using copy and paste instead of cut and paste? My test results show that if you copy and paste into a new workspace, the deletion of tasks on the new Kanban board will not affect the content of the previously used Kanban board. If it is convenient for you, you can record a video of the specific process of the operation and send it to me by private message, see below for the entrance to the private message:

If there is an error when uploading the video, you can put the video into the cloud disk, and I will download the video according to the link you provided, in order to solve the problem for you better.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Best wishes

    Hi Larry Croucher

Thank you for your reply which gives us more details, this side would like to confirm with you, are you trying to delete part of the data in the component? For example, the Task part of the form component, or are you deleting the entire component while keeping the data? If you are deleting part of the data, you can try the following steps:

Delete rows by clicking on the icon on the left side:

The operation of deleting columns by selecting the columns you want to delete and clicking on cut:

If you want to delete the component under the premise of retaining all the data, I understand that due to the limitations of Microsoft Loop's current development capabilities, there is no way to realize this for the time being, you can create a new component, copy the original data into it, and then delete the old component.

Hope this information is helpful to you, if you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.

    Sincerely
