    Hi,

    Welcome to Q&A platform.

As far as I know, this service will not cause restart.

The description of Software Protection Service in official document is showing as below:

Enables the download, installation and enforcement of digital licenses for Windows and Windows applications. If the service is disabled, the operating system and licensed applications may run in a notification mode. It is strongly recommended that you not disable the Software Protection service.

May I know if the this event would be logged around the time of shutdown every time?

Kindly check if there is event 1074 in Event Viewer, Window log->System. If yes, please check if the time of this event was the time of shutdown and share the details of this event for us further troubleshooting.

    Best Regards,
    Sunny
