Change the Password and Security question using an Alternative Email not working on outlook.com

I like to update my security information every few months, tonight I was trying to do that on EmailAddress1 and provided my alternative email address (AddressEmail1) and I got a message saying it was incorrect so I signed into that alternative email address (AddressEmail1) and had no problem doing so.

I decided to try change the security information on that email (AddressEmail1) and provided the Alternative email I have for that email (EmailAddress1) which I was signed into previously and the message I got back was saying it was wrong. This has happened to TWO email addresses I have linked to that one email address I use as the Alternative for multiple email addresses, which means I can't change security information or change passwords without this being fixed.

This has me completely nervous, so can you please tell me what the problem is? And can you please fix it. Because this has been my practice since Microsoft made it possible to add an Alternative email address for security, now it doesn't work.

Here is a pic of what it looks like when I enter AddressEmail1, it replies saying it begins with "Ad" (for the sake of the example and not reeling my email address).

Turns out I closed my own question or whatever.

Let me tell you how, I'm use to entering or writing my email addresses with caps and of all thing Microsoft have as case sensitive (or not), it's the email address. It kept bugging me that I couldn't get this sorted so I went back and entered it all in lower case an it worked.

I feel silly but I won't remove this incase there is someone like me out there that's having this problem of being defeated by case sensitivity without even knowing it.

    Take care and goodluck everyone!
