Mailbox issue.

Getting below error for the user.
Exchange: The execution of cmdlet Enable-Mailbox failed..; Exchange: An unknown error has occurred. Mailbox was disabled earlier. Now after enabling it is showing under mailboxes in EAC and in admin center it was showing above error and also preparing mailbox. Not able to configure outlook for the user.
Checked 2 mailboxes are also showing in soft deleted state for the same user.
Please help how to proceed further. We don't require the data but want a mailbox for the user.

Are you running a hybrid environment or Exchange online only?
If you don't require the data, you can create a new mailbox, adding the old mailbox address as secondary email address:
