Do not deploy large application update to internet clients?

Hi,

we have AutoCAD updates that are over 800MB big, and we want to create a required deployment so all the clients that have AutoCAD installed receive this update. However, clients that are outside of our company boundaries (working from home, in VPN, or on some remote site) should not receive this update. As soon as the clients are back at HQ, the installation should proceed.

Is there a way to accomplish this? The only thing that comes to mind is that we create available deployment for all, but this does not guarantee that the update will be installed by our co-workers (it won't we know it).

Cheers

    Hi,

Here is an idea for reference:

    1. Firstly, we can create a device collection by the installed software(AutoCAD). We can use this link as a reference:
      https://systemcenterguru.wordpress.com/2014/02/20/how-to-create-a-collection-of-computers-by-installed-software/
(Note: This is not from MS, just for your reference.)
    2. And schedule the full update on the collection as needed,

    3. Download the updates and deploy them with the maintenance window, configure the Time setting and Recurrence pattem setting as scheduled.
The client will run the deployment during the next scheduled maintenance window that has available time
For more details, please refer to the following links:

Hope the above information can help you.
