I am not seeing an option to disable the automatic synchronisation of email in the Outlook app for Android. I get the feeling that option does not exist. Am I missing something?

    Thanks for the response Richard!

    • May we know the version of Outlook for Android you are using?
      • 2.1.82 (152)
    • Have you tried to clear cache and data?
    • Did you try to reset app preferences?
    • Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling Outlook?

In regards to the other questions, those don't seem to be related. I'm simply looking for a way to disable automatic checking for new email in the Outlook app. Nothing is "malfunctioning". I am fairly sure that isn't an option, but wanted to double check. My use case probably isn't one that Microsoft cares about... I don't plan on using Outlook as my primary app for sending and receiving email.

Thanks for the link. I would imagine this functionality will be part of this suggestion (which is planned to be added).

Thanks for the suggestion. I am only seeing the ability to stop contact sync in that menu.

Here's how to turn off automatic synchronization of email:

    1. From your Android device, go to Settings.
    2. Look for Accounts and Sync.
    3. Select the account that you wish to manage automatic synchronization.

Let us know how it goes.
