Autocomplete not working in new Microsoft Account signin screen

Ever since the new Microsoft Account signin screen has been implemented (see below), auto-compete is not working when I start typing my ID.

I tried several browsers (Firefox, IE11, Chrome), and I tried different computers.

I tried logging into other accounts (gmail, netflix, etc) and auto-complete DOES WORK for those accounts.

The problem ONLY happens when I am signing on to Microsoft Account.

Could there be any setting in the HTML for the Microsoft Account page that rejects auto-complete??

Here is what the new signin page looks like ...

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are referring to auto fill feature available in your browser when you say "I start typing the Hotmail account to open other accounts are not listed starting with the same first letter.".

I would suggest you to enable autofill feature in your web browser. For Internet Explorer, follow the steps below.

Remember passwords and fill out web forms

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/fill-in-forms-remember-passwords-autocomplete#ie=ie-11

Once you enable the feature, you will have to manually sign in to all the accounts. The next time you login to the account these addresses will be available by typing the first letter of the email address.

    Regards,

    Jesinta,

Thank you for your reply, but your suggestion DID NOT resolve my problem.

I followed your suggestion .... I clicked the link you provided, then followed the instructions to enable autocomplete in IE11. Here's what I did ...

    1. I opened IE 11
    2. Clicked the "gear" icon.
    3. Clicked Internet options in the drop down menu.
    4. Clicked the Content tab in the Internet Options window.
    5. Clicked the Settings button in the AutoComplete section.
    6. Clicked the Forms entry (so check mark was visible).
    7. Clicked OK

Then I navigated to outlook.com and entered my ID and password. After that, I signed out of outlook.com.

Then, I navigated to the outlook.com site again, and started typing my ID ... AutoComplete DID NOT WORK.

I did the same thing for other accounts (netflix, gmail, facebook, etc) ... I manually signed in, then signed out, and the next time I signed in, AutoComplete did work for those accounts (netflix, gmail, facebook).

AutoComplete works on all sites EXCEPT outlook.com .... AutoComplete does not work when typing my ID into the outlook.com sign in page.

Other people are having this exact same problem.

    See this thread.

This is not a browser problem ... because on other sites, Auto Complete is working fine. Only the new Microsoft Account sign in page is having a problem with Auto Complete.

This issue needs to be escalated.

    EDIT:

More people having same problem .... see here.

    Jesinta,

I have reported this issue through UserVoice. This is the response I received ...

Thank you for providing feedback on the new Outlook on the web experience.  This is our new Outlook and the ability to go back to the previous format is not available.

Please notice that the response I received from UserVoice (above) assumes that that the problem I am reporting has something to do with the new Outlook Mail interface, and notice that the person writing the response thinks that I want to go back to the previous interface. The person from UserVoice who responded to me DOES NOT UNDERSTAND THE PROBLEM.

My outlook account has NOT been converted to the new Outlook Mail interface. My account is on the OLD interface. The problem I am having has nothing to do with the new Outlook Mail interface. The problem I am having is a bug in the Microsoft Account sign on page that prevents auto-complete from working.

Please reproduce this problem yourself ... follow these steps ...

    1. type outlook.com into your browser's address bar, then hit Enter.
    2. when the sign on page is displayed, start typing the first few characters of your ID into the proper text box. You will see that auto-complete does not work.

Once you have reproduced this problem, then you can report it directly to Microsoft's developers, or you can try reporting it on UserVoice.

Please let us know if you are able to reproduce this problem.
