Tool to auto fix broken excel links after migration to SharePoint online

Create a new URL redirection server with a URL rewrite module and point your DNS to this server. Now this server will take all the requests (which are supposed to go to your old source server), and then redirects the requests for an item already transferred to its new location in SharePoint or Microsoft 365. Based on my research, Migration tool won’t change or replace previous link URL in Excel workbooks even if the linked files are uploaded to Sharepoint Online, we need to re-add the links again. If there are many linked files, this does require a lot of manual effort to create these links.

I'm really confused why MS would do this.
Why did all the links have to end up broken?
I had over 100 links to various things that I use often enough to NEED but infrequently enough to not have been given the new link or know who to ask.
This is a huge waste of time. Shame on you SharePoint Team.
