Microsoft Azure Backup Server - ALR - Does the recovery process shut down the source machine?

Hi All,

My aim is to recover one of our production VM's using MABS. As the machine is in use, and I want it to stay in use during and after the recovery process, I am looking at restoring to an alternative location. The below article states:

"Alternate location recovery (ALR) - When the original VM is missing, or you don't want to disturb the original VM, recover the VM to an alternate location."

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/backup/restore-azure-backup-server-vmware

I am worried as I know if you are doing an ASR from Hyper-V the source machine is turned off. Can I confirm if the source machine is left untouched with MABS ALR?

Any and all help is very much appreciated,

Alix
