regex in Azure databrick notebook

Hello Everyone,
In Databricks using Python can you please let me know how to read a file and grep on a pattern and write the result to another file. Please assist if there is any sample code.

Can you eloborate the ask ? Can you share what kind of file is this csv,avro etc ? And also what kind of pattern . If you can share test data that will be great .
