"recording has started" on TEAMS but recording not in Onedrive

Yesterday, I recorded a meeting and when the meeting was over I ended it as usual. When looking for the meeting recording today, the chat box is greyed out and says:

"MEETING
Recording has started"

but, unlike previous meetings, there is no photo of the video and it is not in the One Drive recording folder.

I have tried syncing the folders, exiting TEAMS and opening the program again, scrolling up to the top of the chat and then back down but I have not found the actual recording.

Is it lost? or was there a glitch? I am nervous this might happen again for another important meeting and need to understand what happened and how to prevent this in the future

    Hi @Karlee Ainslie

    Do you mean the meeting recording cannot not appear in chat history even you ending Teams meeting like the following picture?

    Could you confirm with other attendees to check if they can see this recording on Streams?

    If they can’t see that recording either, I suggest you use compliance and eDiscovery for retrievalling meeting recordings. Please contact your admins and let them follow steps as below:

    1. Go to https://protection.office.com and sign in using Office 365 admin email address and password.
    2. Click Search > Content search.
    3. On the Search page, click the arrow next to + New search

    1. Click New search in the drop-down list.
    2. Under Search query, specify the following things and look for the keyword "recording" in the subject line of the item.
