I cannot open .ics files from an external source in Office 2016 using Office 365 on MS surface.  Internal calendar requests are fully operational.

No idea how they're being generated....but any outside .isc file is non responsive.  If someone within my organization sends a meeting request, that's fine.....

Tried everything I see online including a restart, save and open from desktop....nothing working.  Miffed

Do you happen to know which application the sender has been using?

For instance IBM (Lotus) Notes can generate recurrence patterns in ics-files that are not supported by Outlook and various other mail clients.

See: Meeting invitation contains “not supported calendar message.ics” file and other attachments
