I have created a cognitive service and trying to access the same from inside the virtual machine, when connected with or without VPN.

@Neeraj Do you mean you are unable to access the REST API? Is there any error?
Which resource of cognitive service are you using? Access to public internet is sufficient to access the API, could you please check if the required ports(HTTPS) are open on your virtual machine?

How do you try it? What do you see? What is you configuration?

This make no sense to come with this vague question when we cannot see your attempt or your VM and we do not have the ability to read minds! Please try to elaborate more and remember that most of us cannot read minds or see what you do or able to test your specific system. Screenshot can help as well.

Hi, I was trying to access the speech to text service API that I was trying to access. I checked the all the ports and firewall rules on the VM and everything seems to be correct.

Hello, what I just did was, I removed the cognitive service endpoint from the subnet hosting the the Virtual Machines, and it started working again. This sounds like a temporary fix and not permanent. In my case, the subnet should have fix endpoints for the services, but somehow it is not working for Cognitive Services.

We just had a similar issue with Azure Cognitive Services Face API.

We had a Service Fabric Cluster of VMs in a subnet with Service Endpoints enabled for Cognitive Services and we could not connect to Face API (connection failed because connected host has failed to respond).

After turning off Service Endpoints for Cognitive Services on the subnet we were able to successfully connect.
