Default Chrome Browser doesn't open links from Outlook

Hi All

My Default Browser is Chrome but it's not opening any link from Outlook. When I click any link inside Outlook, nothing happens.

I observed that if I changed the default browser to edge, all links work fine and open in edge without any issue but if I switch back to Chrome, it works for some hours but returns the same issue later.

It's a strange issue but any help will be highly appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi @Subhankar Patnaik ,

Does this issue occur recently? If so, did you have any special operations before?

According to your description, I tested on my outlook365(version 2105(Build 14026.20308 Click-to-Run)), hyperlinks in Outlook can be opened normally through Chrome when Chrome is set as the default browser, which did not reproduce your issue. So what's the version of your outlook client(File>Office Account>About Outlook)? Please make sure you have upgraded your Outlook to the latest version.

In order to further confirm the problem, please try debugging in outlook and chrome respectively.

For Chrome, It is recommended that you could try to clear the chrome cache to check there're any differences. If it doesn't work, we suggest you try to uninstall and reload chrome.

    For Outlook:

    1. Considering the impact of some add ins, It is suggested that you try to start outlook in safe mode(win+R>type: outlook /safe) to check whether it works normally.
    2. If this is still the issue in safe mode, it is suggested that you could try to create a new profile(control panel>mail>show profile>new) and add the account for testing to check if there are some differences.
    3. If the above is invalid, considering that the outlook program may be damaged, it is suggested that you could try to fix the outlook program and check if there're any difference.

Hope the above is helpful to you. Please contact us if you have any questions!
