Intermittent Notifications

Notifications are working very intermittently for me. Sometimes I will get a Notification for an incoming email, but most of the time there are no Notifications at all. I really can't discern a pattern.

I'm using Outlook 16.29. I have Notifications set per the screenshots below. I also ran the Outlook Reset Preferences tool, but the issue continues. I'm using three email accounts: Outlook, Exchange and Gmail. Most of the incoming email is from the Gmail account. The Gmail account is set as a "Google" account with Calendar sync.

There are definitely no Notification Banners at all for most new messages. I often have Outlook behind another app that I'm working in, and when I switch to Outlook, I'm surprised to see several new messages in the Inbox that I never received Notifications for. I'll contact the support team. Thanks!

    Hi Kevin,

To my knowledge, Banners will only appear for 5 seconds and then disappear on their own. Also, if multiple emails arrive at the same time, Outlook will only display one banner. While Alerts won't disappear on their own, you must dismiss them. And if multiple emails arrive, each incoming email will appear an alert. For your reference, see Outlook for Mac for Office 365 New Email Notification Options. In this scenario, we suggest you select Alerts as the notification style to check if it makes any difference.

And if the issue persists, it could be a client issue. To better assist you, you can try to contact the Outlook for Mac in-app support team via Help > Contact Support. The team focuses on Outlook for Mac client issues with rich experience. We sincerely appreciate for your understanding.

    Regards,

    Marvin
