Is it possible to add other UI elements (other than buttons) to the ribbon in a custom Excel add-in?

We are building an Excel add-in with Javascript/HTML as per, https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/office/dev/add-ins/overview/office-add-ins.

We are wondering if it is possible to add input fields/radio buttons/select menus to the ribbon for our add-in.

It seems that the only thing that is possible is setting up buttons that open different task panes. Is this correct?

If there is a way to add other UI elements to the ribbon please let me know.
