My friend sent me an email with his calendar file, it is an oft file in the attachment, but when I click the file, I cannot open it, is there a way I can open it in the Outlook for Mac?

    Hi

Outlook for Mac supports Outlook template files (.oft) if you have the current update installed AND you also have an Office 365 subscription.

You can vote for a feature request to have this functionality available for non-subscribers, but since you have Office 2016 and no new features will be added to this product because it is now discontinued, I would not expect to see this coming your way.

    Hello MikeSlad,

As far as I know the Outlook for Mac is not supported oft file to preview, the oft file is Outlook for Windows template format, we cannot open it in the Outlook for Mac, you can suggest your friend to send ics calendar files to you.

Hope it is helpful for you
