Hi
I have an issue in my organization.
When sending emails between users the Sent field's date and time format changes randomly and doesn't even stay constant for the same user.
For example in the excerpt from a mail below one can see that mails from user J sometimes shows the day in front of the date and sometimes not. This happens to a lot of users in the organization, If they look at a email conversation the date formats between parties change the whole time.

I have made changes to the date and time format of the accounts themselves but this did not change the outcome.
Can anyone shed some light on this issue?
Thank you.

Hi Kerry
Please see my answers to your questions below. I hope they shed some more light:
About Outlook desktop client:
If users who in your organization are using outlook desktop client, please try to login the same account in OWA(outlook web app) and check whether has the same situation.
- When using either outlook desktop or web client the results are the same.
Please try to start outlook in safe mode and check the result, the reason for this is to check whether add-ins which in your client caused this problem. Open Outlook in safe mode (microsoft.com)
Maybe you can also update the version and check the result.
- When I tried to use safe mode I received the same result.
About OWA:
If they are using OWA, maybe about this problem you can refer to this article: The Sent time stamp on email messages is incorrect in Outlook on the web - Exchange | Microsoft Docs
In addition, please try to change a browser and login OWA and check the result.
You can also try to clear the cache of your browser.
- The date and time is correct. Some time stamps just sow the day included and some not:
To narrow down the scope of question, I would like to collect some information:
What types of account are these users using? (business account/outlook.com/IMAP e-mail account/POP e-mail account)
Based on your description, some users of your organization didn’t occur this problem. Could you please tell the difference between these users and “normal users”?
How long did this situation occur? Before this, your organization has made some changes, hasn’t they? If so, what changes or settings?
- The company is running it’s email on an Exchange 2013 environment.
- We previously used Office 2016 as the software but recently changed everyone over to O365
- There are Office Standard and Office basic users.
- Our exchange server however is still on prem and we haven’t migrated to hosted exchange as yet.
- Our OWA is therefor still a hosted site on our exchange server.
I have also played around with regional settings, date formats on the clients, exchange servers and domain controllers.
Dear J_Lood,
Has your problem solved? Hope this helps. Please feel free to let us know if you have any questions about this. I’ll be happy to help. Hope you have a wonderful day!
Best regards,
Kerry
