IMAP Root Folder Path

Hello, I am using Outlook version 16.48 on my Mac (Big Sur - 11.3.1) and I have enabled the "New Outlook" feature there. Now when I tried to add my IMAP university email to Outlook and create there the inbox and outbox servers with the individual port settings and he synchronized the mailbox, I noticed that he entered all folders (send, archive, etc.) in Inbox. In addition, I also can not delete any emails. I then looked up the instructions from the university's IT support again and I was told to enter a root folder path. Unfortunately, I do not find this option under the settings. There is no "Advanced" button or similar when adding the email to enter this folder path. I hope I will be helped here!

    Hello Christoph,

I'm Diane, an Office Apps & Services MVP specializing in Outlook and an Independent Advisor.

That is not available in the "new outlook" yet - it's basically a beta and they just added IMAP support to it. (Previously only Exchange accounts or Microsoft cloud accounts were supports.)

You can use Help > Contact support to report it or leave a suggestion in Uservoice.
