Outlook constantly crashing

Hiya,

Hope can help.

My microsoft outlook is constantly crashing and has been for three days every time I try to use it, as well as taking far longer than usual to open up.

To try and repair I have;

  • Run Microsoft Outlook support and recovery assistant - and reports no issues
  • Started Outlook in safe mode (and still crashes)
  • Removed large email files (I have approximately 26k emails in my inbox - not sure if this is what could be causing the problem though from what I've read online probably not)
  • Tried to do the online repair through the uninstall a program option but couldn't find Outlook in the program (unless I'm being an idiot here).

Laptop in general seems to be running fine, though I have been having an issue where I keep on dropping off our NAS drive. Not sure if this is associated at all. Not a techy person!

Any help on what next steps to take greatly appreciated; using outlook every day makes it not being available very painful!

Cheers

Luci

    Hi Tommy,

    Thanks for your help.

Running through the different options, loading a new profile onto outlook has seemed to help.

It's not bringing up my calendar though and I'm not getting any of my older emails in folders.

I can also use the web-based outlook without problems, and have also attached a screenshot of my office for your reference.

Should I try and reload everything onto this new profile, or is a different solution after this?

    Thanks!

    Luci

The first image shows the Toolbar in desktop Outlook.

The next two images are from your screenshot.

The second image shows your Favorite for the Outlook.com web site.

The third image is an icon from the Taskbar.

The fourth image shows an available browser add-on.

The problem is the browser add-on and desktop Outlook have the same Taskbar icon.

When you use Outlook do you see the Taskbar in my picture?

If you do not see the Taskbar, then you are using the browser add-on.
