Adding Location to Appointment in Outlook

When will Microsoft have a fix for adding a location to Outlook 365 calendar location feature.  It works in the OWA version but not in the full install version.

I saw that it was being worked on back in March or so of this year and the development team said that it was about at a 20% completion phase.

Just trying to figure out when this was going to be complete.  Our office just finished the migration from Microsoft Exchange to Office 365 and this is a feature that we used before the migration but can't use it now.

    Hello Kathy Morgan,

Thanks for your post in Microsoft community. Based on our knowledge, at the time of creating appointment from Outlook client, we have an option to enter/add room in location tab and as per the rooms appeared in our address book, we can view and select the rooms.

Screenshot for location’s availability in Appointment from Outlook client.

If we correctly understand your issue and you are not able to view location in Outlook client, suggest to check below suggestions.

    A. Go to Scheduling assistant and click on Add Rooms to add such room to check if it helps.

    • Screenshot for reference:

    B. If still you are not able to add rooms or you don’t have a location option in appointment tab, suggest to Start Outlook in safe mode (Choose Start > Run and type Outlook /safe, and choose OK) and check the result.

    • If it works in Safe Mode, then the is likely to be a conflicting or corrupt add-in. Disable all add-ins (Go to File -> Option -> Add-Ins -> Go and remove all) and then open Outlook to confirm, if it works then enable add-in one by one until you get to the one causing issue**.**

    C. To further check, kindly provide us detail information about your Outlook version (with build information).

    • To do so:  Open Outlook -> File-> Office Account and share entire page screenshot with remove your email id.

If we misunderstand your issue, we apologies and request to share some screenshot about your issue and some information about “development team said that it was about at a 20% completion phase”, so we can help to check further.

At this point, many thanks for co-operation.

    Thanks and Regards,

    Ankita Vaidya

I have tried your recommendations and they did not help.  Please keep me posted on the status of the Development teams progress on fixing this issue so that the location feature in Outlook app works like it does in the online outlook mail.

    Thank you

    Kathy Morgan
