Verification code from a private number.

Why a private number?

I received my verification code from a private number. Why? As I checked the Microsoft website, they said, the message will be labelled  as 'Microsoft account security code' or 'Microsoft account verification code'. It was while veryfing my Outlook account.

I'm Independent Advisor Claire and a Microsoft user like you.

Other users have also reported this. I think the mechanism for sending SMS has changed. But I can't tell you more, being a Community user too. As long as the message came when you were veryfing your account, it is not a scam.
