Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management

Regarding your issue, make sure you are using correct password for your affected account and check if you are able to open Outlook Web app for your account or not. It helps to narrow down the issue, if its related with your O365 account or Outlook client.
A. If issue is with OWA: check your user account sign-in address and password are correct.
B. If issue is related with Outlook client only, please check below suggestions.
- Open Credential manger and remove all credential related with MicrsoftOffice and check if it’s helps.
- To do so: Search Credential manger -> go to Window credential -> remove all credential related with MicrsoftOffice and then try to open outlook
- Start Outlook in safe mode (with CTRL + R and type : outlook.exe /safe) and check if you are able to adding new email or not.
- If it works in Safe Mode, then the is likely to be a conflicting or corrupt add-in. Disable all add-ins and then open Outlook to confirm, if it works then enable add-in one by one until you get to the one which stops Outlook.
- Check the affected user Outlook client with Microsoft Office 365 Support and Recovery Assistant :
- To download and install the tool, click this link: Download Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant for Office 365.
- After installation, Please launch and sign in with the affected users’ Office 365 credential.
- According to issue , select the issue from the list.
- Support and Recovery Assistant Tool will examine the affected computer with a series of tests and check automatically.
- If you get specific error message “The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action”, kindly follow the suggestion mention under Outlook continually prompts for your password when you try to connect to Office 365.
