MIcrosoft 365 - Exchange Online - Problem with adding attachments from the local computer drive

Good morning to all,

We have been using MIcrosoft 365 for some time now and the following questions have come up.

One of our users is experiencing problems adding attachments to emails if the attachment is located on the local drive of the computer.

When you point to an attachment file, a message appears:  "Cannot attach the following example.txt files try again later".

Of course it doesn't matter what kind of file it is, e.g. *.txt,  *.xlsx, *.docx, *.pdf.
File size does not matter either.

Files placed on OneDrive are added without any problem.

How could we solve this problem, what is causing it?

Thank you in advance

Regards

Tomek

    Hi Regina,

The problem have been solved by unchecking the Outlook Light Version. Unfortunately the user was not aware that this option was active.

Thank you for your time and support.

    Regards

    Tomek

    Hi Tomek,

May I know if you are using Outlook web app or desktop client to attach these files. To narrow down this issue, I can give you a test account via private message to check if it is related to your account, thanks.

    Best regards,

    Regina

    Hi Regina,

I took that into consideration, unfortunately the attachment size doesn't matter either.
We have many users in the company with identical licenses and none have encountered this problem.

We prefer to add attachments to messages. However, thank you for the hint.

    Regards

    Tomek

    Hi TOMEK GAWEDA,

    Welcome to Microsoft community!

I think it may be because the attachment size , to narrow down this issue, you can send a test attachment to check if it related to the size. The default maximum message size for Office 365 mailboxes is 25 MB, you can ask your admin to customize the maximum allowed message size from 1 MB to 150 MB, about how to adjust, please refer to here.

Or you can use OneDrive or SharePoint to share your attachment as a link.

    Any update will be appreciated.

    Best regards, Regina
