I just got a text message from microsoft it says:

Your Microsoft email account will be delete due to congested emails. If you have not sent the congested emails yet, you can do so here outlook.microsoftld.com

Obviously this looks fake but I am just making sure, cause my phone number is linked with my email. is this real?

Hi Kev,

I understand. The more that you just have to ignore the message.

A lot of people are trying to Phish Microsoft consumers and users.

    Hi Kev,

Good day! Hope you are doing fine. I am Jennifer, an Independent Advisor and Outlook user like you.

Microsoft will never delete your account due to congested emails recent. That is for sure a Phishing email.

Let us make sure to report this kind of emails to Microsoft.

    a. In the message list, select the message or messages you want to report.

    b. Above the reading pane, select Junk > Phishing > Report to report the message sender.

Kindly confirm if I am able to help you today or if you still need further assistance!

I also received this text message.

This is quite an impressive spoof as the text looks legitimate as it comes from Microsoft (no number the SMS number/ID is Microsoft.

Like Olivia it showed in my text messages below a bunch of previously sent verification codes (legit ones).

Microsoft need to do more to highlight this as a scam as when searching the internet this is the only related post i found.
