Color Scheme Issues

Hello,

This morning out of nowhere my outlook got dark. I must have pushed a button somewhere or something. Normally I have the color scheme set to dark gray, where the main screen and navigation bar on the left are darker gray... and the ribbon at the top is a much lighter color. I like this setting because the majority of the page is dark so my eyes don't hurt but the top is lighter so I can still navigate. Today however, no matter how many times I change the setting to dark gray, the ribbon is still black with the stupid inverted icons and it's driving me crazy. I've exited the application, I've tried to change it online, I've even restarted my computer so I am at a loss. Please help. I haven't gotten any work done in an hour trying to fix this.

    Hi Anotherreber,

Seeing the category in you have posted your question, o assume that you are using M365 for business.

I am using the latest update, and i have change the settings to dark gray as you can see bellow, so the problem doesn't come from the update.

Please make sure that you have the same update.

And if you still face the same situation, you can choose to go back to the previous version How to revert to an earlier version of Office (microsoft.com)

or try to create a new outlook profile to see if it makes a difference.

    1. In Outlook, select FileAccount Settings > Manage Profiles
    2. Choose Show Profiles > Add.
    3. In the Profile Name box, type a name for the profile, and then choose OK.

Please give it a try and let me know your findings.

    Regards,

    Mac

Unfortunately that did not help. I've been told that it was just some sort of update that doesn't provide the color scheme I previously used. Pretty disappointed.

    Hi Anotherreber,

    Greetings.

Thank you for raising your concern in this community.

Can you try to first use the system setting,

after that, run a quick outlook repair.

Repair an Office application - Office Support (microsoft.com) and try to set it to dark gray again.

Please let me know your findings.

    Regards,

    Mac
