**Reset all preference settings!!!!!**

Can someone please help me! I have been dealing with issues in Outlook for a month now because I accidentally clicked something wrong on an error message pop up. In the process, if trying to undo my one mistake I have completely destroyed my account settings. I can't paste images, add a signature, delete anything manually highlighted, etc... Unfortunately, every online forum I could find has made this worse. I tried all advisement from any and every column so I could continue working (my job is almost 85% emails). I am at the end of my patience. I am a technologically savvy woman which makes this even more frustrating because I have yet to ever come across a program I couldn't personally troubleshoot until now. I am also horrified by how difficult Microsoft has made it to find instructions regarding how to SIMPLY factory reset Outlook preference settings. Please if someone can advise I would be eternally grateful. I have tried EVERYTHING I have seen online and nothing has worked and Microsoft has one of the most USELESS customer service databases I have EVER come across.

Those are definitely weird symptoms. Is only Outlook affected or do you see similar weird behavior in Word?

Have you tried a repair yet? To repair your Office installation, right click on the start menu and choose Apps & Features, find and select the Office installation. Choose Modify then select the Quick repair option. Use the Quick Repair option first as it will fix many things and complete fairly quickly.

If it doesn't help, use the Online Repair option to uninstall Office and reinstall Office. It will not delete your existing Office settings or your Outlook profile and data files.

    Hi Diane,

Yes, I am using the most current version of Outlook desktop.

When pasting, nothing appears or an empty box outlined in black appears that is the size of what I have attempted to paste.

When highlighting a selected amount of words or letters to delete, nothing happens.

When adding my signature, small empty boxes outlined in black appear.

I have never experienced any of these issues since I began using outlook last year.

I tried going into the desktop control panel to create a new user, hoping it would solve these problems but all issues remained the same.

    Any advisement is appreciated!

    Thank you!

    Hi Julie,

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue.  You re using Outlook desktop software? The easiest way to reset is by creating a new profile, but If I can better understand the problem, I might be able to help you fix it without taking such a drastic step.

What happens when you try to " paste images, add a signature, delete anything manually highlighted, etc..." ?
