Move to Folder does not work

I have started observing this error in last month only. I believe my outlook was upgraded to latest patch and after that I have started facing this issue.

I have made below setting:

In Options > Mail > After Moving or deleting an open item > Open the previous item

Now, I generally go through emails like this:

  1. I pick up an Email
  2. Right click on it > Find Related > Messages in this conversation
  3. And then I start reading the mail thread from bottom to top
  4. And as I go on reading, I move the emails to designated folder using option Move in message

It was working great couple of months ago. But since last month, this option works only on the first email. For rest of them, it does not work.

Then I have to go to each email, open it separately and then move it to a folder. => Sometimes this does not work as well.

I am currently on version 2102 (Build 13801.20864 Click-to-Run)

    Thanks for the reply.

I have changed the category. Could not find "Move to Folder" subcategory here.

I also repaired the installation, but it did not help.

If it helps in anyway - I have 4 PST files connected to outlook and all of them are above 2 GB.

Also, the folder hierarchy is a bit big. I usually transfer Emails to 4th level subfolder.

I would just like to stress that I am facing this problem only since last couple of months. I never faced this problem earlier.

Hi ChinmayOutlook, hope you're doing well. I’m Ian, and I’m happy to help you today.

I'm sorry to hear about this issue.

May I know if you are using Outlook desktop or Outlook.com?

Since the question is under Outook.com forum but if I understand correctly the issue it seems it pertains to Outlook desktop.

I tried to replicate your issue so I try to find the related messages then I try to read 3 messages then selected manually the 3 messages and move to specific folder.

It is working find at my end.

If you are using Outlook desktop you can try to do Office repair.

    1. Open Control Panel - Programs and Features
    2. Select Microsoft Office in the application list
    3. Right click and click 'Change'
    4. Click 'Repair' then select Online Repair

You can the link below for more details
