Hi!

I am not able to install an msi package that I've downloaded from Microsoft website "WindowsPCHealthChecksetup.msi" First error message was that this package author is unknown and it wouldn't run it even when I had it to run anyways, it gave an error message listed below! Then I ran it as an administrator from the cmd prompt and I get the same error message:

The installation package could not be opened
verify the package exists and that you can access it
or contact the application vendor to verify
this is a valid Windows Installer Package

I have administrator rights on this PC but I'm still running the cmd as Administrator.

I have downloaded the msi package a couple of times in case it was corrupt and also tried restarting the Windows installer to see if that made any difference with no luck!

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Can you move (or copy) the file to another folder and try the install from there? Does right click and "Install" give the same error?

If you right click and look at the details and digital signature, does it look like this?

    (My laptop can't run Win11.)

    Hi,
For MSI related problems, we always suggest to enable the MSI installation log to verify with more details.

1.Kindly follow the method provided below to enable the MSI log and then narrow down the issue details after reproducing the installation.
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/windows-client/application-management/enable-windows-installer-logging#enable-windows-installer-logging-manually

***Please remember to revert back after resolving the issue since the log will be created whenever new msi package to be installed either successfully or with error reported.*

2.Please try to run the cmd in the specific folder path(where you put the msi installation package) and then run the msi install command.

3.Also here is the last try that input this package in another temp folder (maybe D drive or others)and run the installation command again.

Hope this helps and please help to accept as Answer if the response is useful.

    Thanks,
    Jenny
