I was wondering the best practice to remove or restrict items from opening in Excel and Word when inserted as a hyperlink or disable hyperlinks in those documents with group policy.

I couldn't find anything directly for this solution, And would greatly appreciate any advice for this topic.

Question: can group policy autocorrect a document when opening and remove items that match a regex like http[.]{1,5}[.{1,200} and auto correct it to "Link Removed" just curious for a possible solution. Disabled Clickable hyperlinks would be Ideal but I am open to any suggestions.

    @Patrick Gray ,

    Per my research, you may not be able to achieve this througn Group Policy.

    From the perspective of Office, I found an offcial article about disabling automatic hyperlinks, you may have a look.

    Besides, due to we are more focused on general issues about Excel client, I think you could refer to the following pages to post a new quesion to check if any code could be helpful to you.

    Hope the information could be helpful to you!
