I got a text saying my number was deleted from a microsoft account with an email that has two letters that my email does not start with and a link. What could this be? I didn’t click the link unless it was fake.

    Hi

My name is Daniel. I will be more than happy to assist you.

Let's investigate this issue to find out if your account is indeed under attack.

Could you pelase visit this link to find out the recent sign-in activity of your account: https://account.live.com/Activity

Do you find something suspicious when you check the recent sign-in activity?

I suggest you bring your account security protection to the next level. I personally don't suggest you use a mobile number as a method to receive a verification code because the SIM swap attack is common nowadays. I explained how to protect your account in more detail in the following link: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msteams/for...

Please also check a few things below often used by hackers as a "backdoor" tactics to take control of the victim's account:

    • Please visit this link and make sure there's no suspicious alias listed there. If you find suspicious alias then please remove it.

    • Please visit the following link to check your forwarding and make sure there's no suspicious forwarding email account listed there. If any then please remove them.
