Outlook for Mac (desktop app) Version 16.43

There is no "Remove" option for email attachments. I only see the options of "Preview, Open, and Save As..."

I want to keep the email but not the often large attachments. Thanks

Hello AJ_Meyer,

Based on your description, I understand that you want to remove the large attachment for emails you received. And from the picture you shared, you are using the new version of Outlook for Mac, which doesn't include the option to remove attachments.

If you want to continue to use the new version of Outlook for Mac client, as a workaround, you can click reply and change the recipient to yourself to send the message to yourself without the attachment and then, you can download the attachment from the original email message to your Mac and delete the original message from your inbox.

Alternatively, since there is an option to remove the attachments in the old version of Outlook for Mac client (see picture 1), therefore, you can also switch back to the old version of Outlook for Mac by simply turning off the New Outlook switch (see picture 2):

Hope above information helps. If you have any further concerns, please feel free to let us know :-)

Best regards,

Jennifer

    Thank you for your reply.

Yes, that is a workaround, however then the filed email is sent from me and not the original sender which matters should I later search for it. In a work environment, filing email and later being able to easily locate it matters. Mac users tend to deal with a lot of documents and large graphics and being able to delete attachments seems like a basic requirement.

The new version should have that option and I hope that it's returned.

    Thanks again.
