    Hi Nirun Lumlerdluksanachai,

    Glad to help you here.

According to your description, the outlook found a problem with your file and it comes from unreliable or unknown sources. In this case, opening the file in Protected View helps protect your computer.

Please try to enable Protected View for Outlook attachments in Excel.  Go to File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Protected View > check Enable Protected View for Outlook Attachments. Then see whether the Opening Mail Attachment dialog box will come out again.

If it is not working, there is another possibility that some Add-in may cause the problem. To figure it out, you should disable the add-ins one by one in Outlook then test.

    Regards,

    Grace

    Hi Grace,

    Thanks for your advise.

If I enable it, Excel will need to click for editing before I can use the data.

Previously, I can uncheck "Always ask before opening this type of file" when I run Outlook as administrator. But now, I cannot uncheck it.

    Regards

    Nirun

    Hi Nirun Lumlerdluksanachai,

I have removed your personal information to protect your privacy, thanks for your understanding.

Please try to restart your computer then open outlook in the safe mode to see if you can uncheck this setting there.

    Regards,

    Grace

    Hi Grace,

Many thanks for your kind attention.

I have started in safe mode. Excel can open automatically, but no small window to uncheck "Always ask before opening this type of file". Then it still ask when I run outlook in normal mode.

If I check to enable protected view in Excel. there will be no small window of "Always ask before opening this type of file". But in Excel, there is another step that I need to enable editing before working on sheet.

    Regards

    Nirun

    Hi Nirun Lumlerdluksanachai,

Starting Outlook in safe mode, which starts Outlook without add-ins loaded, can tell you if an add-in is the problem. Since you mentioned “I have started in safe mode, Excel can open automatically.” to figure it out, please try to disable all of your add-ins before restarting Outlook then see the result. For more information please see Start Outlook in safe mode and disable add-ins

If it is still not working, I suggest you use the protected view as a workaround until the uncheck "Always ask before opening this type of file" setting is back.

Thanks for your patience and effort on this issue. We really appreciate that.

    Regards,

    Grace
