cannot delete autocomplete address

I am having a problem deleting an email that keeps popping up in my autocomplete list.

Microsoft says:

"You can remove one or more entries in the Recent People list. If you hover your mouse over the entry, you'll see an X to the right of the person's entry. Click that X to delete the person's name and email address from the Auto-Complete List. This doesn't remove the person from your Contacts folder or other address book."

Problem is that no"X" appears in my suggestions drop-down list as I mouse-over the names. How can this be? Is something broken with my Outlook?

Any suggestions are welcome.

Hi The Computer Hypnotist,

Thank you for the swift reply and all the things you have tried out.

Unfortunately, "Other suggestion" cannot be moved or disable this list for your requirement, we are sorry for that.

You can refer to this documentfor this section:

Kind Regards

George

    Hi The Computer Hypnotist,

Thank you for all the detail information you given, my pleasure to assist you.

First of all, we would like to confirm with you if you are referring to the "Recent people" or "other suggestion", if it is the other suggestion, you cannot see an X at the other suggestion field.

Or you could clear all entries from the auto-complete list:

    1. Select File > Options > Mail.
    2. Under Send messages, choose Empty Auto-Complete List.

Choose Yes to confirm you want to empty the list.

If you still have issue, could you take a screenshot of your current outlook version like below? In addition, any related screenshot of you issue would be great to help us.

    Kind Regards,

    George

I am referring to the "other suggestions" list.

I have clicked on the Empty Auto-Complete List many times and it never worked. Did it again this morning and it DID work. So I guess my problem is solved for now. Don't know why it worked today and not yesterday. Could it have anything to do with yesterday's Windows 10 update (KB4540673)?
