How to hide the extension in SharePoint

We use a link on our corporate page to go back to an onboarding folder for HR. The link shows the name followed by .url and we want to hide the .url from showing. It's not functionally a problem, but it looks odd. Is there a way to hid this?

I have the same issue. Screenshot attached.
This shows as Proposals.URL on the page. Would be nice to have it display as proposals only.
