Multifunction printer not working when using smtp.office365.com

It seems Office 365 did something security wise with their SMTP server. My clients are running Printers with Scan to email capability and they are suddenly getting failures.  Seemed to happen right around the last month.

DNS is configured properly.  Tried the IP address of the SMTP server, no luck.

setup:

smtp.office365.com

Port 587 STARTTLS

Full email and password all of them verifying the password as their credentials. Any help?

We have tried everything to get our clients Workcentre 7225 to scan to email using the office 365 smtp settings. It keeps giving us an error message stating this: Unable to send test Email.

One or more of the addresses are invalid. No messages were sent.

    Hi AmandaMorag,

Based on my research, there is no new limit added to SMTP server. Regarding your scenario, I recommend you first check if port 587 is blocked by your firewall or ISPs. Besides, I’d like to share that Microsoft 365 or Office 365 imposes a limit of 30 messages sent per minute, therefore, please also note your delivery rate. This link lists a series of problems and related solutions related to SMTP client submission, you could view if it helps you.

In addition, in order to further understand your actual situation to offer you better assistance, we need to collect below information, please offer them to me when it is convenient.

    1. Non-delivery report email(NDR) or screenshot of problematic page. For privacy, please offer me the NDR email in private message.
    2. Did your organization modify any setting recently? Such as enabling Microsoft Security Defaults or multi-factor authentication(MFA), or changing default port of device.
    3. Is your device able to use TLS version 1.2 or above?

    Kind Regards,

    Betty

All works fine here on several PC's

Check printer network config, or reinstall full feature software from the printer makers support site
