Set Shared Contacts Folder to Default

My company's contacts are based solely in one user's contact list which is shared to everyone else. As a result I don't have any items in my contacts.

Is there a way to set this shared folder to appear in my address book? There are almost 7.5k contacts inside the folder so going through and duplicating isn't realistic.

Thank you!

Hi, Claire E Taylor

According to your  description, can we considered as you want to copy the shared contacts folder to the default contact folder (i.e. address book)?

If so, at initial stage you can try to convert shared contacts to vCard Format and then import the vCard Format to your default folder and see if you can see that imported contact into your address book or not.

Convert Contacts to vCard Format:

Outlook > File> Open and Export > Select the Import/Export option > Export to a File > Choose the Comma Separated Value (CSV)> Next > choose the folder that has your contacts >Next. Then save the file at your desired location. After this map the custom fields and click on Finish.

Import the vCard Format to your default folder

Restart Outlook > choose File> Open & Export > Import/Export option > Import > Import from another program or file > Next > Choose the CSV file and select the file you want to copy > Select the folder to import and map the custom fields.

Please feel free to contact us if there’s any questions.

Regards,

Zed
