Cannot remove a connected account

I previously connected a Gmail account to my Microsoft account so I could read that mail in M365. I would like to disconnect it now, but I am unable to do so.

This article:

Remove a connected account from Outlook.com - Outlook (microsoft.com)

directs me to the Outlook settings, under Mail --> Sync Email --> Manage Connected Accounts. I can navigate to that location, but there are no managed accounts in the list. This is despite the fact that my Gmail account is in fact syncing with Outlook and I can read/reply to Gmail messages in Outlook.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for getting back to us and for the information provided.

Since it was confirmed that you’re using an M365 account, then it’s possible that the Gmail account is added as an additional or separate mailbox in your Outlook account. Can you try navigating to OutlookSettings > Premium > Features > Additional mailboxes. Then, check if you’ll see the Gmail account from there and delete it afterward.

Should you have other queries that we can attend to, don’t hesitate to let us know.

    Thank you for the response.

I use the MS Edge Beta to access my M365 account, Version 88.0.705.49 (Official build) beta (64-bit), on Windows 10.

Here is a snip of the screen:. As you can see, the Gmail icon for the linked account is visible below the modal window on the left, but the account doesn't appear in the settings:

    Thanks!

    Hi MartiniConQueso,

We got your concern about removing your Gmail account as a connected account in your Microsoft account, as you’re unable to do so. Let’s work on this together and we’ll help you in the best way we can to sort this out.

This could be an account-related issue. To clarify the situation and to isolate this at the same time, we’d like to ask the following:

    1. May we ask for screenshot of what's showing on your end when you navigate to Outlook settings, under Mail --> Sync Email --> Manage Connected Accounts? This is what it should like:

    1. Which web browser are you using to access your Microsoft account via Outlook.com?
    2. Are you using a Windows 10 PC or a Mac device?

Once we got the necessary information, then we’ll be able to provide recommendations, as to what’s needs to be done.

To notify us and have us get back to you, simply reply to this post.
