Alias vs Second Account.

I would like an email for important matters and an email for trivial things like forums and games so if the trivial email is compromised it is not connected to my important one. Does an alias keep my important email address protected or should I create a separate microsoft account? Can you create a second microsoft account using the same personal details?

Thankyou.

Hi SCOTTMANSFIELD1

Thanks for reaching out! My name is Dane and i'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you.

Creating an Email alias will not achieve what your desired setting, email Alias will only give you another email account name but it will share the same mailbox as the original account. Your second option is actually the best option, you can create a second microsoft account by using the sign up link, you can use the same information on the first account it is not an issue.
