If "My Organization" "Can view titles and locations" for calendar permissions, can they my appointments marked as Free?

Hello all,

Might be an odd question but I've started with a new organization that has a culture where everyone provides permission for everyone within the organization to "Can view titles and locations" of their calendar events. I'm fine with this portion. What I would like to know is if this "Can view titles and locations" feature is only relevant if the calendar event is marked as busy, tentative or out of office? What happens if I have an event that is marked as Free? Will others be able to see it?

The reason I ask is that I usually like to add my tasks in free times within my calendar and mark it as Free. But I don't necessarily want everyone to see those tasks I add to my calendar.

Hi Canislupus,

Yes they will see those appointments as it is part of your calendar even if it shows as free. I have just done a test for you to confirm it.

Any appointments or meetings created in your calendar will be shown. the reason is that the calendar is already shared and the rest will depend of the permission level. in your case : Can view titles and locations. however the content will not be seen. you can precise the appointment by marking it as private

and that how they will see it..

Thank you for raising your concern in this community.

Normally with the view titles and locations, your coworkers will not be able to open the meeting/appointment. No matter which show as option is used.

They will get this error

Hello Mac, thanks for your quick reply. This does not answer my question. I know that the Views titles and locations does not allow access to my coworkers to open the meeting/appointment.

My question is if I create an appointment and I 'Show As" "Free", does everyone in my org still see those appointments?
