Archive function with disabled PST

Hi,

so I have a setup where PST files are disabled, beacause the working environment is ephemeral and storing them would not make any sense, however disabling PST is also making the Archive function unavailable.

Is there a way to keep PST disable and enable archive function to use it for moving the files to an online archive (or simply a different folder in the same account)?
In other words - have a Backspace move my e-mail to a custom directory.

    However I don't want to use pst files at all, that is fine. What I need is to be able to use manual archiving (i.e. "Backspace" key) for online archives. Is that still not feasible?
