always same story ... why asking to check if there is nothing to check .... document are wrong ... we had teh same issues with windows 2, 3, 3.11 in the 90ies etc etc never stopped

well i've checked on another laptop and could use the recovery pass phrase to unlock .the USB .. i hope it will be reliable enough , but in case i will use another way to crypt the data on another USB , too much people complain they've lost access to their bitlocked drive ...

To verify that this is the correct recovery key, compare the start of the following identifier with the identifier value displayed on your PC.
    Identifier:
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
If the above identifier matches the one displayed on your PC, use the following key to unlock the drive.

    Hello,

I don't think the "Identifier Value" is a value you can check like your Computer Name.
If you are not sure if the key you have is for your current computer.
I'd suggest simply regenerating the BitLocker Recovery Key again to ensure you have the current one.
Search on: Manage BitLocker. ( or goto: Control Panel, System and Security, BitLocker Drive Encryption)
Select the "Back up your Recovery Key".
It gives you several options to save the file.

    From my search:
The identifier of the drive is generated when the drive is encrypted. This allows you, the end user, to identify which recovery key goes to which encrypted.
The reason the message says to "compare the start of the following identifier with the identifier value displayed on your PC." is because of how BitLocker Recovery itself works.
