Hello Gurus,

I am running WSUS Server on a Windows 2012 server. Can I use the Windows 2012 WSUS server to patch Windows 2019 Servers ?

Our environment does not have access to the internet due to security reasons. What is the manual process / How to configure the WSUS repository manually.

Any help or guidance is highly appreciated.

Of course, we could deploy updates for windows server 2019 servers by windows server 2012 WSUS server.

Our environment does not have access to the internet due to security reasons. What is the manual process / How to configure the WSUS repository manually.
We have to create two WSUS servers, one could connect to the internet to get the required updates and the other use to deploy updates to the clients in the internal. Please follow this link. Note that the link is old, but it is suitable for the other WSUS version.

Hi Rita,

Thanks for the Update. Can you please guide me on How do we set up the configuration of the downstream/upstream WSUS Servers.

Is there any process where we upload the Microsoft Patches manually in the WSUS server and then deploy it to the other windows 2019 server. I was looking for something we do in the Redhat Satellite servers where we create a local repository and all the servers are pointed to the local repository.

Hello Anjan,

According to this link, we have to creat two WSUS servers, one could connect to the Internet, the other couldn't. We should confirm whether the two WSUS server match express file installation and language settings on export and import servers as this link first.

Then we should sync the required metadata and approve the required updates on the connected WSUS server(The Binary update files will be downloaded on the WSUS server only if you approve the required updates)

Last, Export the metadata and Binary update files from the connected WSUS server and import to the disconnected WSUS server.

Note that we could refer to this link to deploy WSUS server.

Hi Rita,

Hope you are doing well. 

When I am trying to setup the WSUS and it ask which updates needs to be configured in that list I dont see 2019 as an option. How to select 2019 for updates , can you please guide me.

Hi Rita, Hope you are doing good. Thanks for all your help. I have the initial setup ready but under computers and All computers under the WSUS server it is not showing the windows client. The port 8350 is open still the host is not showing up under the computers except the local windows computer. Any help is highly appreciated. Please review the below registry value to confirm whether the clients have enabled the policy first:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate
