Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
Hi Tanya Lukezic,
Thanks for choosing Microsoft Community.
Based on your description, I know your requirement. In fact, there are many reasons will cause this problem. Since you said you have already enable ‘Save copies of messages in the sent Items folder’ in File>Options>Mail, so please be kindly to try the others ways to check if the issue will persist.
- Please check if the sent emails are stored in other folders. You can send a test email to another account and use search to search this email and check if the email is in other folder of your inbox. If the email can be found with search function, you can check the rule you made and delete relating rule.
- Please check if the maximum storage is been used by the Sent Items folder. You can try to remove some older emails to make space for the recently sent emails. You can try the following steps: right-clicking the Sent Items folder and choose "Properties"> Choose the "AutoArchive" tab followed by "Archive this folder using these settings"> Modify the "Clean out items older than" setting as per your choice> choose "Permanently delete old items and hit "Apply" > "OK"
- Set another folder to receive the sent items. Create a new folder> Click New Email and go to Options tab> In the Save Sent Items to, and click another folder in the drop down> Select another folder than the original one to save the sent mail
- Repair the corrupt Outlook data file. You can have a try according to Repair Outlook Data Files (.pst and .ost) (microsoft.com).
- Repair Office Application: Repair your office application: You can refer to Repair an Office application (microsoft.com) and then check the result.
- Create a new profile: You can try to create a new one according to Create an Outlook profile (microsoft.com). And please do not delete the old one. If nothing works, you can change back the older profile.
Hope the suggestions above can help you. If there is any update, please feel free to let me know.
Thank you so much for your precious time. Stay safe and healthy.
Have a nice day.
Best Regards,
Katherine
