Default calendar keeps changing

I have a client that recently added a 4th shared calendar to their view in Outlook. One of them needs to be the default calendar for all new meetings and is selected as such.

However, after going to the mail view and then back to the calendar a different calendar has become the default one. This was working fine until the 4th calendar was added, but that could be a coincidence.

Have tried many different things to make it the default but nothing sticks so far.

Anyone else seen this? Is it because of the 4th one? Or did something new get rolled out lately?

Many thanks in advance for any ideas!

Keith

    Dear Keith,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

Based on your description I understand you have concern regarding Default calendar (Shared). Please correct me if I am wrong. Thank you.

In order to offer accurate solution, we may need to clarify more details based on the query. Could you please help to provide below information? Thanks so much for your cooperation and time.

Kindly share with us the information below:

    1. What version of Outlook are you currently using (you can check in Outlook>File> Office Account

    1. Is it because of the 4th one? Regarding this query do you mean if you remove the 4th calendar you are not encountering the scenario on the latest/3rd shared calendar? You may also a do a test by removing the 3rd shared calendar and add it back to check if you face same scenario.
    2. Have you tried to restore views

There is an alternative method that can restore the initial views of all folders at once.

    1. Close the Microsoft Outlook, and open the Run dialog box with pressing the Win + R keys.

    2. Enter the outlook.exe /cleanviewsin the Open: box, and click the OK button.

Then Microsoft Outlook opens with restoring the default views of all folders immediately.

We look forward to your response, Thanks for your cooperation.

    Sincerely,
