Hi!

I have received an email with the following context today (I'll try to translate as best as I can):

Microsoft-fiók /Microsoft Account/
Fiókja meg lett jelölve megszüntetésre (érvénybe lép: 2023. 01. 09.). /Your account has been marked for suspension./
Kedves Zsófi! /Dear Zsófi!/
A fiókja (my********@hotmail.com) a fiók inaktivitása miatt a következő időpontban való bezárásra van ütemezve: 2023. 01. 09.. A fiók a bezárása után a Microsoft szolgáltatási szerződésének megfelelően törlődik. /Your account, due to inactivity, is timed for suspenion: 2023.01.09.. After the shut down of your account, it will be deleted according to the Microsoft policies./
Ha szeretné megtartani a fiókot, jelentkezzen be legkésőbb a következő időpontig: 2023. 01. 09.. Fájljait és adatait változatlanul elérheti a fiókban. /If you would like to keep your account, sign in until the following date the latest: 2023.01.09. You can reach your files and datas in your account./
További információért kattintson ide. /For further information, click here./
Köszönettel: /Thank you:/
A Microsoft-fiókok ügyfélszolgálata /Microsof account services/

I'm sorry if the translation is bad. It basically says in my language, that due to the inactivity of my account, it will be suspended on the 9th of January (which is strange, because I have just signed in from a mobile browser yesterday and since it is linked to my Gmail, I delete and read my Hotmail emails every day). It says that all I have to do is sign in to keep my account, but I do that weekly.

I received this email from this account: ******@accountprotection.microsoft.com which I read is the official account I should trust, but due to the reasons I said before it just feels like a scam - there's even a link I can click for "further information".

Is this a real email and will my account really be suspended in January? I don't want to click on the link, but I have not received any confirmational email about my account after I (just to make sure), signed out and then back into my account again. Do I have to do anything else to keep my Microsoft account?

Thank you for your help in advance!

Greetings, Zsofi! My name is Arif, I'd be pleased to help you as a Microsoft adviser.

    Please take the following actions:

Dear Zsofi, you have done great job that you haven't click on any link, it looks spam email, fishing, I would suggest you to get the message details of the sender from the message header.

Double click and open the email>click file>properties and ger the internet headers, make sure to check all the message details.

Checked if the sender email address is matching with the return bath if not it is a spam email, and you have to block the sender email and domain please.

If still not too sure kindly refer to the below link since we don't have full access to the message header to check everything, please.
